Man Found Shot to Death Near ATC in Lancaster Desert

Authorities were investigating the death of a man discovered fatally shot next to his ATC in the desert in Lancaster.

The investigation began early Monday morning as a search for a missing person after family members reported that Stephen Finson had not returned from an outing on the all-terrain cycle, according to a news release from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The 47-year-old was last seen by family members on Sunday afternoon.

During the search, the Lancaster man was found laying on the ground near his ATC in the 13300 block of East Avenue H, the release stated.

He had suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene, the release stated.
