A man was rushed to the hospital after he was stabbed in the Westlake District of Los Angeles late Saturday. 

Authorities responded to calls of a stabbing at the intersection of Union and 8th Streets around 11:30 p.m. 

According to a statement from LAPD, officers found a man suffering from stab wounds. The suspect, described as a Hispanic male wearing a black shirt and blue pants, fled on foot. No weapon was recovered.

The victim was transported to a local hospital. His condition is unclear at this time, LAPD said.

The motive for the attack remains under investigation and the LAPD has filed an attempted murder report as the search for the assailant continues.
