Police are searching for a gunman who opened fire on a man in Santa Ana early Monday morning.
Authorities responded to the intersection of Evergreen Street and Warner Avenue just after midnight when they received a call about the shooting, Santa Ana Police Department Cmdr. Robert Rodriguez said.
Arriving officers found a Hispanic man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and immediately transported him to a local hospital.
The shooting victim told officers he had been approached and shot by a man wearing all black clothing, Police Department Cpl. Anthony Bertagna said.
Video showed officers investigating a car at the scene. The car appeared to have a bullet hole in it but it was unclear when and where the victim was shot.
The victim was in stable condition, but Bertagna said he was not being very helpful with investigators.
A woman who was with the shooting victim was not injured in the incident.
The motive for the shooting is still under investigation, however Bertagna said it was possibly domestic violence related.
Officers are working to identify a suspect and determine the location of the shooting.
