A man in his early 20s was hospitalized in critical condition on Saturday after being assaulted at a nightclub in Hollywood, police said.

Officers responded to the Cashmere nightclub about 12:45 a.m. and discovered a fight had occurred on the club’s upstairs level, according to Lt. Ling of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Hollywood Division.

By the time club security had located the victim, he was down and unconscious, Ling said.

The man was transported to the hospital where he was last reported to be in critical condition.

No arrests have been made, and it was not immediately clear whether police were looking for anyone in connection with the assault.

The nightclub is located at 6756 Hollywood Boulevard, about a block away from the heavily trafficked intersection of Hollywood and Highland.
