A man was in critical condition Saturday after he was run over and stabbed repeatedly during a carjacking in Lancaster, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The victim was sitting in his vehicle at the Chevron Station at 4th Street East and Avenue K on Friday night when a man tried to rob him at knife point, a news release from the Sheriff’s Department stated.
The man ordered the victim to slide over, entered the vehicle and drove off, authorities said.
A short time later, the victim exited the vehicle and was run over by the carjacker, who then got out and stabbed the victim multiple times in the chest, according to the release.
The man tried to get away in the victim’s vehicle, but crashed into a nearby fence.
He fled the scene on foot and has not been located.
The victim was rushed to a local hospital, where he was last reported to be in critical condition, the department stated.
