A man was hospitalized in serious condition late Wednesday after being slashed with a knife during a fight that broke out at a La Habra bowling alley, police said.

The incident occurred around 11:15 p.m. during a concert that was held at 300 Bowl, which is located at 370 E. Whittier Blvd. (map), according to Sgt. Ron Hurst with the La Habra Police Department.

About 150 people were attending the event when an altercation took place between several males and females in a mosh pit that had formed.

During the fight, a man produced a knife and cut the victim in the side of his neck, seriously wounding him, according to Hurst.

The altercation moved outside and several attendees assaulted the alleged attacker, beating him until he was unconscious. Hurst said.

Both men were taken to a hospital and expected to survive.

An assault with a deadly weapon charge was expected to be filed against the man with the knife, according to Hurst.
