Detectives arrested a suspect Friday night after a man was shot to death at a self storage facility in Moorpark earlier in the day, officials said.

A report of gunfire about 2:20 p.m. first drew deputies to the area of Los Angeles and Goldman avenues, Ventura County Sheriff's Office Capt. Eric Hatlee said.

A man estimated to be in his 50s was found wounded and pronounced dead at the scene, he said.

Sheriff's officials announced 67-year-old Elsworth Cadle of Moorpark was arrested in connection with the killing about 11:15 p.m. No information regarding the circumstances of the arrest were released.

Further details regarding a motive in the shooting, as well as the relationship between the suspect and victim, were also not available.
