A mother has died nearly two months after she was injured and her 5-year-old son was killed in a fire intentionally set in Vallejo by his father, police said.
Lametricias Seilflood, 45, died Wednesday while receiving treatment for burn injuries in Sacramento, according to the Vallejo Police Department.
Seilflood, her son Dayleon Seil-Shuemake and his 13-year-old half-brother were sleeping about 9:54 a.m. on May 22 inside the family home in the 800 block of Stella Avenue when the blaze broke out.
Several neighbors tried to rescue the younger boy, according to the Vallejo Fire Department. But it was too late.
