Business owners were picking up the pieces Thursday morning after multiple locations were broken into at a shopping center in Encino.

The break-ins were reported in the 16500 block of Ventura Boulevard shortly before 4 a.m., according to Los Angeles Police Department officials.

Aside from what was taken — including a cash box from one business, as shown on surveillance video — not much is known about the thief, who appears to be man.

The investigation remains underway.
