A mysterious green light was seen streaking across the sky over Southern California on Tuesday night.
The phenomenon was reported around 9:30 p.m. by several viewers who contacted the KTLA newsroom.
The object was most likely a piece of interplanetary debris that was re-entering the atmosphere and heated up to create a meteor, Dr. Ed Krupp from Griffith Observatory told KTLA.
Krupp said there was a strong possibility that the object burned up in the atmosphere.
This sort of thing apparently happens nightly but is rarely witnessed by the public, according to Krupp.
