Ontario police shot and killed a man armed with a metal pipe Saturday afternoon while responding to a domestic violence report, an official said.
Officers went to a home in the 400 block of East Philadelphia Street about 3:51 p.m. to investigate the report, according to Officer George Ramirez, a spokesman for the Ontario Police Department.
Confronted there by a man with a pipe in his hand, police opened fire, Ramirez said.
The man was pronounced dead after being struck by gunfire. News video from the scene showed officers standing near what appeared a body bag on the street in front of the house.
No other information was immediately available.
An investigation was under way.
