HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (KTLA) – Police asked the public for help Tuesday in identifying the person who used a city stop sign to break the window of a bike shop in Huntington Beach Sunday night after rioting broke out at the close of the U.S. Open of Surfing.

easyrider-suspect-postVideo posted to YouTube shows people ripping down a stop sign and using it to shatter the front window of the Easyrider Bike Shop.

Somebody stole a bike before others in the crowd persuaded the looters to stop, witnesses said.

Pictures of the window smashing incident went viral but police were unable to identify the person holding the stop sign.

Authorities asked that anyone with information contact the Huntington Beach Police Department hotline at 714-375-5066.

Police also urged anyone with video or pictures to email them to hbpdfiles@gmail.com.
