Police Ask for Public’s Help in Finding Missing Woman, 85

A search continued Tuesday for a missing 85-year-old woman who suffers from dementia, Los Angeles police said.

Mariya Gershenson, who speaks only Russian, was last seen in the 17000 block of Sherman Way in Reseda (map), according to an LAPD statement.

“Ms. Gershenson suffers from dementia and her family is extremely concerned for her welfare as she is [in] need of daily medication,” the statement said.

She is described as 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing about 140 pounds, with gray hair, blue eyes and a fair complexion. When last seen, she was wearing a gray hooded shirt or sweatshirt and carrying a black purse.
