Police in Covina released surveillance video Tuesday of a man being sought in an attack on a woman outside her apartment complex.

The assault occurred around 4:30 a.m. on June 30, according to a news release from the Covina Police Department.
The video showed the attacker slipping through a parking gate outside the complex.
He could be seen putting a bandana over his face as he followed the woman into the apartment complex.
The actual attack was not caught on surveillance video.
But the woman told police that the man groped her as he pushed her to the ground, according to Sgt. Jim McDonough.
The woman was able to escape after biting the man.
“She had the opportunity to bite the suspect’s finger, on his left hand,” McDonough said.
The man was seen on video running away and jumping over the parking lot fence.
