Police were investigating what appeared to be the accidental death Tuesday of a 2-year-old girl at a home in Highland Park.
Officers received a call just after 7 p.m. from a home in the 5200 block of Glen Ellen Place, according to Los Angeles Police Department’s media relations spokesman Officer Drake Madison.
Responding fire crews found an unconscious 2-year-old girl at the home, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Katherine Main.
The girl was being watched by a babysitter when she disappeared, police said.
The babysitter, assisted by neighbors, began searching for the girl.
She was later found unresponsive under a collapsed trundle bed inside the home, according to LAPD Lt. Craig Herron.
She was transported to the hospital where she later died, Herron said.
No one was arrested.
