Police released video Thursday of a man wanted for armed robberies at two cell phone stores in the El Sereno area in hopes someone might recognize him.

The first robbery occurred on Sept. 5 at a cell phone store in the 4600 block of Huntington Drive.

Surveillance video showed the suspect jumping over the counter and grabbing money from the cash register, according to a LAPD statement.

He then directed an employee to a back room where he robbed the employee before leaving the store on foot, police said.

According to investigators, the man followed the same routine during a robbery on Sunday at another cell phone store in the 4800 block of Valley Boulevard.

He was described as a male Hispanic between 30 to 40 years old, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing between 180 and 220 pounds.

Numerous tattoos can be seen on both of his arms, including one on his right shoulder of a Japanese Demon with horns and a large “LA” on his right elbow.

Anyone with information was urged to contact Hollenbeck Division Robbery Detective Silva at 323-342-8986 or Detective Barajas at 323-342-8991.
