Police in Pomona were searching Wednesday for a woman who had not been seen since her husband was found dead at the couple’s home of an apparent suicide.

Officers responded around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday to a suicide call at an undisclosed home in Pomona, where they found the body of Ivan Hernandez in the garage, according to a news release from the Pomona Police Department.

Hernandez lived at the address with his wife Marisela, although the two were having marital problems, the release stated.

Ever since the discovery of her husband’s body, no one had been able to locate Marisela Hernandez, police said. She has not reported to work and all efforts to communicate with her have failed.

The 38-year-old left her car behind and her method of travel was unknown, the release stated.

Police and family members were concerned for her safety and were asking for the public’s assistance in locating her.
