Authorities were asking for the public’s help in locating a bearded dragon that was stolen, according to the Alhambra Police Department.
The reptile, named “Ganga,” was swiped from a local pet store where it was boarded last week, and the owner was trying to get the pet back, a post on the Alhambra police’s Facebook page on Saturday stated.
The bearded dragon was described by police as having a brown skin tone and was 12 inches in length. One notable feature was that the reptile’s claws were painted red, according to the Facebook post.
Ganga needs to be exposed to several hours of sunlight or artificial light every day in order to remain healthy, police said.
“If a friend (or neighbor) should suddenly be in possession of a dragon with painted nails, please give us a call,” the Facebook post stated.
Anyone who sees the animal was asked to contact Alhambra police dispatch at 626-570-5151.
