Authorities were on the hunt for a hit-and-run driver after a bicyclist was significantly injured when a vehicle struck them in Riverside early Sunday morning.
A 27-year-old Riverside resident biking in the No. 2 traffic lane was struck near Magnolia Avenue and Beechwood Place (map) around 2 a.m., according to a Riverside Police Department news release.
The driver fled and was last seen driving north on Magnolia Avenue.
The vehicle was described as a silver or beige, four-door SUV with significant damage to the front end and windshield, according to witnesses. It was similar in appearance to a Ford Flex.
Paramedics transported the victim to Riverside Community Hospital.
