Santa Ana House Fire Sends 4 People to Hospital With Minor Injuries

Four people were taken to the hospital after a fire ripped through a two-story home in Santa Ana Thursday morning, officials said.

A fire ripped through a house in the 1900 block of South Artesia Street in Santa Ana on Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013.

The fire occurred in the 1900 block of South Artesia Street just before 6 a.m.

Approximately 40 firefighters responded to the house to put out the blaze, the Orange County Fire Authority posted on Twitter.

Four people, including a firefighter, were transported with minor injuries, officials said. The firefighter suffered minor burns to his face, according to a tweet.

The fire was brought under control at about 7 a.m., but not before it caused about $300,000 in damage to the home and $150,000 to contents, according to the Fire Authority.

The blaze also caused approximately $10,000 in damage to a next-door home and $10,000 to contents there, officials said.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
