SAN PEDRO, Calif. (KTLA) — LAPD detectives are searching for a man who kidnapped a boy Wednesday afternoon.

The victim had just been released from Dana Middle School around 3:00 p.m. and was walking home when the suspect abducted him, according to investigators.

The suspect — wearing a mask and gloves — pulled the victim into his white two-door coup and used duct tape to restrain him.

The man then took the boy to Alma Park, where the boy was able to escape.

The child’s parents found the boy walking towards their home around 7:00 p.m.

The victim described his assailant as Caucasian with a beard and older.

Mary Beth McDade reports.
