Local news

A shipping container crushed a car in Wilmington Tuesday, and residents say it was just an accident waiting to happen as a backlog at the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach cause congestion in their neighborhood.

The shipping container fell on the unoccupied parked vehicle in the area of McFarland Avenue and Anaheim Street around 2:45 p.m., according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey. No injuries were reported.
