Video Released in Laguna Beach Hit-and-Run; Suspect Sought

Police released surveillance video Monday of a hit-and-run crash that critically injured a man who was walking on the shoulder of a road in Laguna Beach when he was struck.

The crash occurred on Monday, Feb. 24 at 3:18 a.m. in the 2200 block of Laguna Canyon Road, police said.

Police were called to the scene by a motorist who found the injured man, identified as Shahram Mokrami-Tehrani, lying in the road, according to a news release from the Laguna Beach Police Department.

The 51-year-old man was taken to Mission Hospital where he was listed in critical condition, the release stated.

Investigators determined the Corona Del Mar man was walking eastbound on the shoulder of Laguna Canyon Road when he was struck by a dark colored sedan which was traveling in the same direction, the release stated.

The car was described as a dark colored two-door sedan with silver or light colored rims and possible front end damage.
