Los Angeles County Sheriff’s officials have identified three burglary suspects who were arrested after leading deputies on a brief pursuit and crash that killed a 66-year-old man.
Anthony Quisenberry, 35, Michael Smyer, 26, of Los Angeles, and Charles Allen, 32, of Hawthorne ran from a home in Hacienda Heights Tuesday after deputies spotted them while responding to a burglary in progress, LASD officials said in a news release.
Deputies chased after the suspects after the men drove away. The pursuit was terminated when the suspect driver went into opposite lanes and swerved onto incoming traffic, officials said.
The driver eventually crashed into a small utility vehicle at Gale Avenue and Johnson Drive and the driver, Rogelio Gonzalez, of Bellflower, was killed.
The suspects ran from the crash, but were eventually apprehended.
After being treated at a hospital, the suspects were booked on suspicion of murder, burglary and evading an officer causing injury or death. Their bail was set at $1 million.
