Teen Shot, Killed In Arlington Heights; Gunman Sought

A teenager was killed and another teen was being sought by police after a shooting in Arlington Heights late Tuesday.

The victim, who police said may be as young as 16 years old, was shot around 8:50 p.m. at the intersection of West 21st Street and Eighth Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The shooter got away in a vehicle that was waiting nearby and headed eastbound on 21st Street, said LAPD Sgt. Richard Estevez.

The shooter, like the victim, was also believed to be between 16 and 18 years old. He was last seen wearing black shorts and a black hooded sweatshirt, according to LAPD Sgt. Jeritt Severns.

LAPD’s West Bureau Homicide Division was investigating what led up to the shooting.
