A woman and her mother were struck and killed Monday night by the driver of a maroon minivan while the pair were out walking their dog in West Hills.
The crash occurred around 8:30 p.m. in the 23000 block of West Roscoe Boulevard near Jason Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Authorities initially described the victims as a 14-year-old girl and a woman in her 70s.
Police later identified the victims as two adult females — a mother and daughter — one in her 30s and one in her 60s.
Their names were not released.
The daughter was pronounced dead at the scene. The mother was transported to a hospital in grave condition where she later died, according to police.
The dog, a black Labrador, was also killed by the minivan.
Investigators remained at the scene Monday night.
