TORRANCE (KTLA) — Police in Torrance are reviewing surveillance video after a jewelry store was burglarized two times in as many days.

The first burglary happened around 5:30 a.m. Friday at the Robbins Brothers store in the 21200 block of Hawthorne Boulevard.

Torrance police say the thieves broke in several hours before the store was set to open on Black Friday and shattered a store window. They made their way into a storage room and stole several gems worth about $500.

But just under 24 hours later, the store was burglarized again.

When officers responded to the jewelry store around 5 a.m. Saturday, they found an emergency exit door had been forced open and some display cases had been smashed.

As much as $5,000 worth of jewelry was taken.

Police are reviewing surveillance footage and are unsure if the two crimes are related.
