An accident involving six motorcycles on the 210 Freeway may have started with a black pick-up truck deliberately striking one of the motorcyclists, according to a report from the California Highway Patrol.
The incident occurred just west of Irwindale Avenue in Irwindale, at about 7 p.m. Saturday.
According to the CHP’s preliminary investigation, the six motorcycles were going 65 mph as they headed west on freeway in the number one lane. At the same time, a BMW was also going 65 mph in the westbound carpool lane.
Suddenly, a black pickup truck drove from the number four lane to the number one, hitting one of the motorcycles, according to the CHP. This caused a chain reaction with the other five motorcycles. The CHP said at least two of those motorcycles hit the BMW.
