Authorities on Tuesday were looking for a person who stabbed a man to death on a street in Tustin.

The victim, 62-year-old David Nakaki, was walking on Prospect Avenue at Norwood Park Place at about 8:45 p.m. Monday when he was stabbed by an unknown person, according to the Tustin Police Department.

A motorist said he called 911 after seeing somebody on the ground.

Officers responded to the scene and found Nakaki lying on the street suffering from what police believe was a single stab wound to his upper body.

The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

No suspect description or information about a possible motive is available at this time, according to police.

Anyone with information about the incident can contact the Tustin Police Department watch commander at 714-573-3220 or 714-573-3246.

Near the site of the stabbing, police detained three minors involved in a brawl in Santa Ana. Police say the two incidents are unrelated.
