Two people are in custody after California Highway Patrol discovered a mobile lab for THC oil production in Fullerton.

CHP stopped a Uhaul truck on Brookhurst Street, just north of the 91 Freeway, around 1 a.m. Monday because of unknown substance leaking from the back of the truck. Officers approached the vehicle and noticed a strong chemical odor.

A Haz-Mat team was called in to determine the exact nature of the substance.

Law enforcement initially said the operation was a mobile meth lab, but upon further investigation, clarified that the lab was producing THC, the active ingredient in cannabis.

The driver and a passenger were arrested.

Brookhurst was shut down all the way to Orangethorpe Avenue amid the ongoing the investigation and clean-up efforts.
