Two Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies were wounded during a shooting in Bellflower on Thursday night, authorities said.

The deputies were shot around 10:57 p.m. in the 9000 block of Oak Street and were transported to a local hospital, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The conditions of the deputies were unknown at this time.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting had not been disclosed.

A search was underway for the outstanding suspect or suspects in the area of Lakewood Boulevard between Alondra Boulevard and Flower Street, the department tweeted.

Authorities were asking people to avoid the area.

Video from the scene showed dozens of patrol cars and a helicopter searching the area with spotlights.
