Police were searching Tuesday for a gunman who pulled alongside an Uber car and opened fire on the occupants, wounding the driver.

It happened around 3:50 p.m. in the vicinity of Louella and Lucile avenues.

The passengers in the Uber car were also armed and were detained by police, according to Officer Mike Lopez with the Los Angeles Police Department.

Investigators believed the passengers were the intended targets.

The shooting suspects were driving a newer model gold Kia with dealer plates, police said.
