Vista Man Arrested on Suspicion of Killing 17-Year-Old Texas Girl in Del Rey ‘Failed Robbery’

A San Diego County man was arrested Tuesday morning on suspicion of fatally shooting a 17-year-old girl Texas girl in the parking lot of a shopping center in the Marina del Rey area, LAPD announced.

Cameron Frazier, 21, was taken into custody about 9:30 a.m. by the FBI’s Fugitive Task Force outside his home in Vista, the Los Angeles Police Department announced.

Kristine Carman was visiting the region from Houston when she was killed Jan. 6 at the Villa Marina Marketplace shopping center in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Del Rey, at the edge of Marina del Rey.

Carman was found shot inside a vehicle and pronounced dead on scene.

The killing was the result of a failed robbery outside Jerry’s Deli, according to LAPD.

A memorial service was held for Carman, the second oldest of six siblings, on Monday, according to a GoFundMe page for her.

Frazier was set to be booked on an existing arrest warrant and held without bail. Police said he was expected to appear for arraignment at the Airport Courthouse on Wednesday.
