Weldon Kirui, of Kenya, has won the 2016 Skechers Performance Los Angeles Marathon on Sunday, finishing the 26.2-mile course in about 2 hours and 13 minutes.
Willy Koitile, also of Kenya, crossed the finish line second about 19 seconds after Kirui.
Meanwhile,Ukranian Nataliya Lehonkova — who led the entire race — was the female winner, with an unofficial time of about 2 hours 30 minutes. Lehonkova’s time marked her personal record.
The stadium-to-the-sea race began at Dodger Stadium near downtown L.A. and ended not far from the beach by the Santa Monica Pier.
