A 52-year-old woman was charged with murder Tuesday for allegedly running over her boyfriend with her car outside a La Puente motel.
Sharon Kay Hood was charged with one count of murder in connection with the death of her boyfriend of six years, Randolph Morales, according to a news release from the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
On May 8, Morales rented a motel room for the couple in the 500 block of North Azusa Avenue in La Puente, prosecutors said.
While at the motel, the two got into an argument, and Hood abruptly left the room, the release stated.
Prosecutors allege the 51-year-old Morales followed Hood out of the room and to her car where the argument continued.
At some point, Hood allegedly ran over Morales with her car, according to prosecutors. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Hood was being held on $2 million bail.
Her arraignment, scheduled for Tuesday, was continued until June 8, the DA’s office stated.
If convicted as charged, Hood faces a maximum possible sentence of 26 years to life in state prison.
