A woman was killed, and two men were severely injured, in a fiery crash in Northridge Monday morning.

The crash was reported just after 2 a.m. near the intersection of White Oak Avenue and Lassen Street.

The three crash victims were traveling in a black Toyota sedan when the driver lost control and crashed into a traffic pole, Los Angeles Police Department Sgt. David Delgado said.

The car burst into flames, killing the female passenger and burning her beyond recognition, Delgado said.

A nearby resident helped to pull the driver and another man out of the vehicle.

They were both taken to a local hospital in severe condition, Delgado said.

No identities have been released.

Investigators believe the car was speeding on Lassen Street prior to the crash, Delgado said.

The crash is under investigation.
