A woman was killed and a man injured in Thousand Oaks Tuesday in what authorities believe was a family disturbance, officials said.
Ventura County fire and sheriff’s officials received a call about a woman not breathing at about 2:30 p.m. along the 900 block of Woodlawn Drive, Sheriff’s Capt. Eric Hatlee told KTLA.
Responding deputies found a 66-year-old woman with what appeared to be multiple stab wounds and a man suffering from additional injuries, authorities said.
Both victims were transported to a hospital, where the woman died. The man remains in stable condition, authorities said.
Investigators say they believe the incident was a family disturbance that escalated into violence.
The incident is being investigated as a homicide, but it is unclear how the woman died and what kind of injuries the man was suffering from.
In a tweet at about 4:20 p.m., sheriff’s officials said there are no outstanding suspects and there is no danger to the public.
No further details about the incident have been released.
