A 28-year-old woman received a sentence of 16 years to life in state prison Monday for the fatal stabbing of her husband during an “alcohol-fueled argument” at their Koreatown apartment, officials said.

A jury convicted Misun Yoo last month of second-degree murder for the July 31, 2017, killing of her husband in the 1100 block of Menlo Avenue, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said in a written statement. The jury also found true the special allegation that she personally used a knife in the crime.

“Yoo fatally stabbed her 31-year-old husband, Tae Kyung Sung, in the chest after an alcohol-fueled argument,” according to the statement.

Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department handled the investigation.
