A woman who was reported missing five days ago was extricated from an overturned Hummer in Adelanto Saturday night, the San Bernardino County Fire Department reported.
Fire officials responded to calls of a vehicle rollover at about 6:11 p.m. Saturday on Torosa Road, west of Highway 395. They found a woman trapped in the car in an area inaccessible by fire vehicles, SBCFD said in a Facebook post. She was reportedly the car’s only occupant.
Fire personnel used off-road vehicles to reach her location and used rescue struts and a rope system to anchor the large SUV, preventing it from slipping further down the hill, officials said.
The rescue operation took about an hour, officials said.
She was treated on scene and airlifted to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, according to the Facebook post.
The woman was expected to make a full recovery.
The fire department did not immediately release the woman’s identity.
