A teenager was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver Friday night as he was leaving church with his family in South Los Angeles.

The unidentified teen was in a crosswalk at 42nd Street and Normandie Avenue when he was struck around 8:30 p.m. The driver just kept going, police said.
He and his family had just left St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church.
The vehicle being sought was described as a white late-model Nissan Maxima with damage to the front end on the driver’s side, police said.
There was no description of the driver.
