The heart-stopping moment when a school bus slammed into a home in Georgia earlier this week was caught on dramatic video by a camera aboard the vehicle.
The crash occurred Monday in Clayton County, according to KTLA sister-station WGHP.
Dash cam video showed a car crossing the center divider and hitting the bus, forcing it off of the roadway.
The bus then crashed through a mailbox and a tree before slamming into the house. The collision caused substantial damage to the structure, video showed.
Despite the damage, the homeowners called the bus driver a hero. They said the female driver had two choices: hit their residence or go into a park that was filled with children, Atlanta station WSB-TV reported.
No children were on board the bus at the time, and no injuries were reported.
