Officials were scrambling to recover several caskets that were seen floating away from a cemetery in Lake Charles, Louisiana after severe flooding hit parts of the southeast recently.
Images released Wednesday showed caskets floating near buildings and alongside boats that were sent to retrieve them.
Cemeteries were inundated by flood waters from the Sabine River bordering Texas and Louisiana, CNN reported.
So far, seven caskets were recovered, but an official said several dozen more might still be afloat.
It could take weeks to recover all of the caskets and identify the bodies, the official told CNN.
