Missing 12-Year-Old Girls Found Safe After Disappearing in Mendocino County

Two 12-year-old girls who disappeared after leaving a boys and girls club in Mendocino County were found safe, authorities said Friday.

Athena Fausset and Catrina Johnson had last been seen leaving the Ukiah Boys & Girls Club about 5 p.m. Thursday, the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office stated.

Less than two hours later, news of their disappearance was posted on the Sheriff’s Department Facebook page asking the public for help in locating them.

Friday morning, the Sheriff’s Department updated their post stating that the girls had been found safe after a school employee saw them walking together and called authorities.

Deputies immediately responded to the call and the girls were located at about 7 a.m.

No further details were immediately available.
