A man was arrested after three bodies were discovered in northeast Ohio on Tuesday, authorities said.
The incident began when officers were dispatched to a report of a woman being held against her will in Ashland. They found the woman in the house, along with 30-year-old Shawn Michael Grate.
The woman found alive is not listed as a missing person.
The home, along with a nearby house, were supposed to have been unoccupied, authorities said. While processing the scene, investigators found two bodies.
Grate provided information to authorities that led them to a third body in Richland County. Investigators went to a house in Mansfield and located a third body about 60 feet into the woods behind the burned out and abandoned home.
The names of the deceased people have not been released as of Tuesday night.
Ashland police, along with the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office, Ashland County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, are investigating the Ashland scene. The case was listed as a missing person abduction case earlier on Tuesday.
Grate is being held at the Ashland County Jail on an abduction charge.
