A heartwarming video that captured a dog being comforted as she came off anesthesia was viewed by nearly 6 million people by Saturday, two days after it was shared by a Baltimore animal shelter on Facebook.
The dog, Baby Meesha, “was a little scared because her body felt so weird” as she came off anesthesia when the incident took place, according a post by the Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter, Inc. on Thursday.
That’s when a surgical assistant took her into a quiet hall to comfort her.
“I know, I know,” Dennis Moses can be heard saying to the dog as he cuddled and kissed her.
A day after the video was shared, Baby Meesha was at home with her new family, who renamed her Maddie, according to the shelter.
In two days, the shelter’s video — which was filmed by a volunteer — was viewed nearly 6 million times and shared by more than 67,000 people.
Anyone wishing to donate to the shelter was asked to visit its website.
