Man Killed in Possible Gang-Related Shooting in Norwalk

Homicide detectives on Sunday were investigating the shooting death of a 25-year-old man in Norwalk, authorities said.

The incident, which investigators believe was gang-related, occurred at 1:40 a.m. in the 12000 block of Lowemont Street (map), the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release.

After multiple 911 calls reporting shots fired, deputies responded to the area and discovered the victim on the sidewalk, according to sheriff’s Lt. Jason Skeen. The victim had sustained a gunshot wound to the torso and was unresponsive, authorities said.

Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics responded and pronounced the man dead at the scene.

No other details were available.
