Person of Interest Sought in Fatal Redondo Beach Shooting

REDONDO BEACH, Calif. (KTLA) — Investigators were looking for a person of interest on Saturday in the fatal shooting of a man at the intersection of Lilienthal and Ralston lanes.

Erick Ortega, 27, was wanted for questioning in the shooting death of Bobby Reynolds at about 8 p.m. on Friday night.

Officers were called to the intersection after receiving a report of shots fired in the area.

The officers discovered Reynolds lying in front of 2423 Ralston Lane with multiple gunshot wounds.

He was taken to Harbor General Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

“It appears as though Reynolds was specifically targeted.  This was not a random act,” Capt. Jeff Hink of the Redondo Beach Police Department said.

Erick Ortega is a person of interest in the murder of a man in Redondo Beach.

Investigators had taken custody of Ortega’s car on Saturday.

He has prior arrests for robbery and possession of narcotics.

Ortega has several distinctive tattoos, including one that covers most of his head.
