Many look forward to turning 18. Yet, for the estimated 28,000 youth who ‘age-out’ of foster care at this time, it’s usually a birthday that blows out any final hope of becoming part of a permanent family.

Due to strict state laws meant to keep kids anonymity safe, many growing older in the system feel unseen and unheard, until now. In this special KTLA ‘Problem Solvers,’ a local family uses its voice for the thousands who can’t.
