Nearly 8,000 people are expected to attend the funeral of a Riverside police officer who was allegedly killed by Christopher Dorner.

Officer Michael Crain, 34, was killed early last Thursday when he and his partner were ambushed, allegedly by Dorner, while sitting at a red light.

The tributes to Crain, who was an 11-year veteran of the department, began with a procession from the mortuary to the church starting at 8 a.m.

KTLA’s Gayle Anderson and Wendy Burch were in Riverside for the touching and somber occasion.
