Raid at Home in Orange County Nets One Million in Cash — Chip Yost Reports

A routine traffic stop in Orange County led to the discovery of $1.3 million dollars in cash in a residence in Laguna Niguel, authorities said.

It started on Aug. 29, when 42-year-old Jorge Gutierrez was pulled over near the 22 Freeway and La Veta.

Inside his car, officers discovered 24 kilos of cocaine, worth half a million dollars, authorities said.

Investigators later discovered Gutierrez had rented an apartment a Laguna Niguel neighborhood.

Officers from the L.A. IMPACT narcotics task force received a warrant for the residence where they found more than $1.3 million in cash stashed in the attic, authorities said.
